Supporting Your Health, Wellbeing and Vitality Through Every Stage of Menopause

Menopause is one of the most significant transitions in a woman’s life — and yet for many women it remains one of the least supported. The symptoms of perimenopause and menopause can be wide-ranging, deeply personal and at times profoundly disruptive to daily life, relationships, work and overall sense of self. Hot flushes, night sweats, sleep disturbance, mood changes, brain fog, reduced libido, joint discomfort, vaginal dryness and the visible changes that occur in the skin, hair and body can collectively take a significant toll on a woman’s quality of life — and yet many women are still not receiving the level of clinical support and informed guidance they deserve.

At Symmetry Cosmetic Clinic, we believe that every woman navigating menopause deserves access to expert, evidence-based and genuinely personalised clinical care — and we are proud to offer an initial menopause consultation that connects you with a specialist telehealth menopause doctor from the comfort and privacy of our clinic, supported throughout by our experienced registered nurse.

This is not a generic appointment. It is a comprehensive, unhurried and deeply personalised consultation designed to truly understand your individual experience of menopause — your symptoms, your health history, your concerns and your goals — and to develop a medically supervised management plan that supports your health, wellbeing and vitality through every stage of this important life transition.

Understanding Menopause and Its Impact

Menopause is defined as the point at which a woman has not had a menstrual period for twelve consecutive months — marking the end of the reproductive years. The transition leading up to this point — known as perimenopause — can begin years earlier and is characterised by fluctuating hormone levels that can produce a wide and often unpredictable range of physical and psychological symptoms.

The hormonal changes of menopause affect virtually every system in the body — influencing not just the reproductive system but also the cardiovascular system, bone density, brain function, mood, skin health, sleep quality and metabolic function. For many women the impact of these changes extends far beyond the commonly recognised symptoms of hot flushes and night sweats — affecting their energy, their cognitive sharpness, their emotional wellbeing and their overall sense of vitality and identity.

Modern menopause medicine has evolved significantly in recent years — and there is now a strong and growing body of evidence supporting the safe and effective medical management of menopausal symptoms for the majority of women. Evidence-based medical management of menopause can significantly reduce the frequency and severity of symptoms, support long-term health and help women to feel like themselves again — with the energy, clarity and vitality to fully embrace this stage of life.

A thorough and individualised clinical assessment is the essential first step in determining the most appropriate management approach for each woman — because menopause, like the women who experience it, is never one size fits all.

What Happens At Your Initial Menopause Consultation

Your initial menopause consultation is a comprehensive and personalised appointment that brings together the in-clinic support of your registered nurse and the specialist expertise of an Australian-registered telehealth menopause doctor — providing you with a complete, medically supervised assessment in a single, supportive and convenient appointment.

Your registered nurse will welcome you to the clinic and conduct an initial health assessment — including a thorough review of your medical and family history, your current symptoms, their frequency and severity, any relevant health conditions and medications and your personal goals and priorities for menopause management. This detailed assessment forms the foundation of your clinical profile and ensures that your telehealth specialist has a complete and accurate picture of your individual health and experience before your medical consultation begins.

You will then be connected with your Australian-registered telehealth menopause specialist who will conduct a comprehensive medical assessment — reviewing your health history in detail, discussing your symptoms and their impact on your daily life and wellbeing, exploring your individual risk profile and discussing the full range of evidence-based management options available to you. All treatment options — including medically prescribed therapies where clinically appropriate — will be discussed openly, honestly and in the context of your individual health profile, risk factors and personal preferences.

Throughout your appointment your registered nurse remains present and available to support you, answer any questions and ensure you feel comfortable, heard and well cared for at every stage.

What To Expect

Your consultation will take place at Symmetry Cosmetic Clinic in our private and welcoming clinic environment. You will be greeted by your registered nurse who will guide you through every step of your appointment from arrival through to the conclusion of your telehealth specialist consultation.

Please come prepared to discuss your full medical and family history — including any current medications, supplements, allergies and relevant health conditions — as well as a detailed account of your current symptoms, when they began and how they are affecting your daily life, sleep, mood, relationships and overall wellbeing. The more openly and fully you are able to share your experience, the more accurately and effectively your clinical team can assess and support your individual needs.

Following your consultation, where a management plan has been established and any prescribed therapies discussed and agreed upon, your registered nurse will provide comprehensive guidance on your plan, what to expect in the initial stages and the importance of follow-up appointments in monitoring your response and ensuring your management plan continues to be safe and effective for you. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to review your progress and provide ongoing clinical support.

How your personalised treatment plan works

1. Initial Nursing Assessment

Your appointment begins with a thorough health and symptom assessment conducted by your registered nurse — including a comprehensive review of your medical and family history, your current menopausal symptoms and their impact on your daily life, any relevant health conditions and medications and your personal goals for menopause management. This assessment ensures that your telehealth specialist has a complete and accurate clinical picture before your medical consultation begins.

2.  Telehealth Specialist Consultation

You will be connected with your Australian-registered telehealth menopause specialist who will conduct a comprehensive and personalised medical assessment — reviewing your health history in detail, discussing your symptoms and their impact, exploring your individual risk profile and presenting the full range of evidence-based management options available to you. All options will be discussed openly and thoroughly — empowering you to make an informed and confident decision about your menopause management in partnership with your specialist.

3. Personalised Management Plan and Prescription

Where medically prescribed therapies are deemed clinically appropriate and are desired by you, a prescription will be issued on the day — allowing your management plan to commence without delay. Your registered nurse will provide thorough guidance on your management plan, what to expect in the early stages, how to monitor your response and any lifestyle measures that may further support your symptoms and overall wellbeing during this transition..

4. Ongoing Review and Support

Your menopause journey does not end with your initial consultation. Regular follow-up appointments are an essential part of your medically supervised management plan — allowing your registered nurse and telehealth specialist to monitor your response, manage any concerns, adjust your plan where necessary and provide the ongoing clinical support and encouragement that is so important in navigating menopause with confidence and vitality. We are committed to supporting you through every stage of this transition and beyond.
